I just did my rear brakes and discovered that the dust boot on one of the caliper pistons is partially out of where it's supposed to be, allowing junk to enter. You can let it go until you need rotors and get a set of loaded calipers then. Sometimes the boots can be replaced separately. Wilwood race calipers come without dust boots to avoid fires.
